Built on a foundation of psychological safety, we cultivate growth mindset through the practices of courage and vulnerability, reflection and self-awareness, curiosity, and feedback.
Throughout this course you will:

  • Identify the distinction between fixed and growth mindsets
  • Identify the benefits of growth mindset and the costs of fixed mindset
  • Identify the characteristics and benefits of a psychologically safe workplace
  • Analyze current practices in light of psychological safety
  • Identify personal and team actions to enhance psychological safety
  • Enhance awareness of personal views and experiences of courage and vulnerability in order to support growth mindset
  • Use mindfulness to identify internal narratives in order to modify responses to stressors
  • Discuss the steps for giving and receiving effective feedback
  • Identify barriers to cultivating a growth mindset culture in ourselves, our teams, and our organization

Meet Dr. Kate Toth, CHRL, ACC

Kate Toth is the Director of Strategic Well-Being Services at YMCA WorkWell. With 25 years of HR and post-secondary teaching experience, Kate is passionate about helping leaders create great places to work. She has a PhD in Health Psychology, a Master's in Industrial & Organizational Psychology, and is a Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) with the Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA). She has conducted research in mental health and work for more than a decade.
